Residential Generator Installations

Below are a few residential Generator installations completed by Goodall Power Systems

This Green Power GP6000S/YE single-phase 6Kva electric start generator has a Yanmar diesel engine.

It is used in a plug-and-play style installation, meaning that in the event of a power failure, the client will manually start the generator, and plug in the dedicated lead. This lead feeds 4 plugs in the house to which he can connect the items he wishes to run off the generator during the power outage. Once Mains power returns the plugs are removed from the lead, then plugged into the mains supplied sockets again, and manually switches the generator off.

There is no ATS, and the generator supply and mains supply are isolated at all times.

It is used in a plug-and-play style installation, meaning that in the event of a power failure, the client will manually start the generator, and plug in the dedicated lead. This lead feeds 2 plugs in the house to which he can connect the items he wishes to run off the generator during the power outage. Since 2 items are three-phase items a three-phase generator was required.

The other two items are each supplied from different phases to ensure phase balancing. Once Mains returns he removes the plugs from the lead, plugs them into the mains supplied sockets again, and manually turns off the generator.

There is no ATS and the generator supply and mains supply are totally isolated from each other at all times.

This Green Power GP18 Three-phase 18Kva Electric start generator has an Perkins diesel engine.

It is connected to the main DB board via an ATS switch. The power in the Main DB was split into essential and non-essential power. The non-essential part is directly fed by the mains supply, while the essential supply is fed from the load from the ATS. This is a fully automated system, the owner does not do anything when the power fails. In the event of a power failure, the ComAp AMF9 Controller on the generator senses the power outage and automatically starts the generator, once the generator is ready the AMF automatically switches the ATS to Generator Load.  When Mains Power returns the ComAp AMF9 monitors it to ensure it is stable, then switches the load back to mains and switches off the generator.
